Here is a freestyle poem I recently penned. I was daydreaming about the moon. Hope you like it!
There was not enough room for him and I
So I shot him into outer space
In tin foil like the astronauts wear
I didn’t leave him without a mate
Sent the fur ball cat to battle Martians
Now he’s on our rooftop begging to touch down
I have no sympathy for baby brothers
But his lungs are loud and mama scowls
Get him down! Playtime’s over

Muse (O.S.I.)
Hi all,
Here is my poem for O.S.I. The theme this week is muse.
Laying on his window he prayed
He heard her voice like a canary sing
And the light danced through her hair
Her sun kissed dress flying in the wind
Inspired by her shadow he raced
To view her beauty up close
At last she had parted through the clouds
A muse elusive from his human touch

Watery Wednesday: Reflections
Gazing upon the waters reflection
I ponder to myself
Everything is new in sunlight
Yet the brow of trees and darkness
Leaps and rises with the tide
I sigh and smile and raise my lens
A photo to bottle this moment in time

Haiku Heights: Illusion
Hi all,
I am writing a pair of haikus for Haiku Heights and the theme is illusion.
The secrets of fine living
We laugh together
Now we are alone
The illusion answers us
Just live and stay strong

My 3rd Blogiversary
On Feb 15, 2009 I embarked on this journey of blogging. It felt like I was writing in the dark and was seemingly alone. Then, I met all of you. It has been a beautiful journey of writing, reading, and enjoying all of your visits and posts. Thank you to my 300+ bloggers and countless visitors for making my 3rd Blogiversary so sensational.
I am a daughter
Penned in black
As white pages ruffle
Against my back
I extend my heart
To an audience
As wide and vast
As the rising sea

Ode to Valentine
I hope everyone has a joyous and beautiful Valentine's Day. May we all feel the love from the wonderful family and friends in our lives! (The photos above are from Macy's Valentine store windows. Very festive!)
In paper mache symmetry
Lay it out with your earth worn hands
Exhaling sweetness into me
Couplets like rain drizzle down my cheeks
Did you canvas my river in roses
Release pink blossoms with their petals down
Wade in a water of moonbeams
Until we wake in sunlight
Splashing into uncharted seas
But I’d prefer no fantasy
Just feel the love inside of me

O.S.I.: Vital
Hello all,
This Sunday evening I am happy to write a new poem for O.S.I., and this week's theme is vital.
Beautiful
First sun
Feeling the breeze
Palms open to sky
Rising up to catch
An eternal blessing
Today feels new
I can sense in your eyes
Vitality and joy
Youth renewed
So I open the gates
And let faith
Send you back
To me

Music (Haiku Heights)
Hi all,
It has been awhile since I've written for Haiku Heights. So here is my take and this week's theme is music.
And hear instruments in wind
Symphony anew
Does the sound surprise
Or make music in you breathe
Heart and lungs suffice

Dreaming Into Sky
Hi sky watchers:
Here is a lovely view from Central Park.
Does laps
Around me
And the sky
Is a dotted
Playful blue
And I ponder
Washed over
In quiet dreams
