As it is Memorial Day, I thought this poem embodied the sentiments of losing loved ones in war. God bless all the men and women who sacrifice so much for our countries. Both in the U.S. and around the world.
In place of monuments
I would have preferred civility
In place of wreaths
I would have welcomed humanity
In place of statues
I would have erected love
In place of street christenings
I would rewind the annals of time
For what good are these sentiments
Now that you are gone
