I can lay against your back
And feel the currents of metaphors
Sliding against each vertebra

I can lay in the pool of your verse
Sweet innocent curves
Tickle my ears

I can lay in the bed of your tongue
Strumming your throat
Metaphors slow and long

Love Thyself

She knows herself
Beneath the skin
She holds herself
With a quiet longing
She is obsessed
With her inner being
Her ferocious leanings
A lioness in wait
For the fleeting heart

She learned
She yearned
To know thyself
To show herself
Love was the genesis
Birthed in her womb
She cries
She lies
Naked in the bloom of sun
Her sobs coming undone

Time is a beautiful friend
She yearns
She learns
To love herself
