Hi all,
I was both inspired and intrigued by this week's O.S.I. word Wassail. Hope you enjoy my poem!
I am present in the sky
Just me alone drinking in divine
Close my eyes
Feeling the cloud’s tendrils
Pass me in the wind
And I drink it in
Flurries of pink and plum
Down the yellow rim
Sipping the darkness
Emptying sunset’s glass

Not Your Cup of Tea
(Take 1)
I am not your cup of tea
She said
I'm too dark, too light
I taste bitter
And harsh
I bite
I run my course
Through your veins
Incite indigestion
Did I mention I'm insane?
She stirs her cup twice
I'll take two lumps
(Take 2)
She was easy to drink
Spilling over in a blue rimmed cup
She was dark and hot
Her breath wafting up
He took a sip, then frowned
He wasn't thirsty
I am not your cup of tea
She said
I'm too dark, too light
I taste bitter
And harsh
I bite
I run my course
Through your veins
Incite indigestion
Did I mention I'm insane?
She stirs her cup twice
I'll take two lumps
(Take 2)
She was easy to drink
Spilling over in a blue rimmed cup
She was dark and hot
Her breath wafting up
He took a sip, then frowned
He wasn't thirsty
