I am writing a pair of haiku for Haiku Heights and the theme is footprint.
Fall gleams bare, shimmers
Red and gold leaves shower me
Colorful footprint
Today nature calls
Strong and clear in the cool breeze
Shoes cast their footprint

These make a wonderful set, W.G. Makes me want to enter but I haven't time again today. I even missed OSI this week (so far).
Our dog, Adi (a beagle) died Monday a week ago. I finally posted her 'obit' last Saturday.
She was a wonderful dog, my buddy. We had some very good times together. She was a registered therapy dog and we had some wonderful visits with elderly in assisted living and Alzheimer wards.

Yesterday we received a wonderful card signed by all the staff at the vet's office. They loved her as well, she was so nice and friendly and always seemed interested in others.
Anyway the card had a footprint on the side and that was the them of the printed verse. The card made us cry again. I may share it on one of my weekly meme blog entries.
