Beguiling Gardens

Hi Sky Watchers,

I’d like to share some more beautiful photos from my time in Miami. On display is the visually stunning and picturesque Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Let your eyes wander on rich, manicured lawns, spiral stone statues, and drift away into an enchanted world.

Ode to Fedora

Hi all,

This poem is written in honor of my lovely fedora. It is a fixture upon my head in my profile pick. I find it very inspiring. Hope you enjoy my ode poem :)

You suit me with that wide brim curve
Hanging like a sail in the world
You suit me with your plush felt
Kissing velvet against the mouth
You suit me like wine gliding down my body
Riding the waves and shadows of darkness
You suit me like a glove worn tight
Tugging each finger into the hours of daylight
You suit me like the wail of brass and saxophone
Coiling from the embers of a sultry note
You suit me in that fresh taste of love
Bringing to mind the intimate sounds of a dove

You suit me
You move me
When I wear you
I am the muse
The Mona Lisa
Of plum and rose exhumed

Quench (Haiku)

Hi all,

Here are a pair of haikus written for Haiku Heights. The theme this week is quench. Hope you enjoy.

Drench in water…bathe
Satisfy dry yesterdays
Joy in rivers deep

Lips quenched by the rain
Dew drops cascade as blue dreams
Wake in heaven’s stream

O.S.I.: Wind

Hi all,

This poem is written for O.S.I. The theme this week is wind.

What do you seek
The surprise of sunrise
Brushing against your cheek

What do you seek
The love of another
Another heart to discover

What do you seek
A push in the wind
For happiness to break in

What do you seek

In Daddy's Arms

Thursday Tales features an inspiring and beautiful image for Father’s Day. The artist is Jim from DevianArt.

In daddy’s arms, little Robert drops his brown eyes into his chest. Daddy’s heart patters steady and strong like a beating drum. As daddy’s lips touches the crown of his little head, he hums a song. He sings of a world of little boys on grand adventures out to sea. He sings Robert across the ocean, past the moon, and uncharted seas. He sings of fairy tales and friendly creatures, unusual and rare. He sings of sky in all shimmering hues, and Robert catches a glimpse of heaven. In daddy’s arms, little Robert fits snugly like a glove. In daddy’s arms, Robert feels unmeasured love.

Miami Sky I

While traveling to Miami, I was enthralled by the engaging view outside my plane window. The heavenly skies were infinitely beautiful, rich, and vast. All the earthly things floated away as the plane soared higher. I took so many photos on this trip that I’ll have enough to last me several Sky Watch entries. To be continued….

What's Your Pleasure?

Do you prefer the triangle goodness of a piece of cheesecake? Or is your taste buds tantalized by a delicious river of chocolate lava cake?

Do you like your desserts served hot or cold? I don't usually conduct opinion polls, but my friend and I had quite a delicious debate.

You decide :)

Miss (Long For)

Hi all,

This week's theme at O.S.I. is to miss or long for.

Miss
Summer days
Red sunset

Kiss
The sand
Forgotten heat

Love
The hours
Happy dance

Give
Some joy
Pure romance

Live
Long for
Better days

Faith
Open
There it lays

Mini Break

Hi all,

I will be taking a mini break from my blog. I will be returning soon though!! Here is a poem I wrote a couple of weeks back:

Scent of heaven
In your hair
Though you are unaware
I stare
Long and hard
Into those eyes
Angelic light
Too hot to rise
Body closer
Lay next to me
Sink in deeper
My soul is free

Tsunami (Acrostic Only)

Hi all,

This acrostic is dedicated to all those still suffering from the earthquake in Japan and all those recovering from the recent tornadoes:

Tell those who mourn
Someone watches over them
Under clear blue skies
Nearer in the darkness
Amidst sea of tears
Mend spirits and heal
Inspire hope and love
