Wrong (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

I have been away from O.S.I. so I am happy to share a creative poem with all of you.

Right was calling me sweetly
In the direction of its voice
Though I could not perceive its face
In a sea of shouts and noise

Lo I took the stairs
And there the sun gazed down on me
Through a smiling corner window
Yet the voice grew fainter
Calling me ever sweetly

My youth frayed like a scarf
Taking direction west and east
And I looking back
Could not retrace my path
Where did I go wrong

A Promising Sky

I am happy to share this photo with all of you for Sky Watch Friday!

I am reminded here
In the shadows of trees
That winter is silent
In the summer sun’s gaze
Today the New Year
Promises nothing except
A clean slate
And renewed faith

Blogging Hiatus

I have some exciting projects that I am working on in the New Year, which will take me away from blogging for a little while. Perhaps, I’ll be able to pop in and do special posts every now and then. I appreciate the love, support, friendship, humor, and creativity from each and every one of you. I’m taking to the sky like the birds and spreading my wings!

Art & Poetry

Hi all,

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending an art exhibit in the city. Art and poetry coalesce so nicely together and inspired my latest piece.

Give me art
Against white walls
Give me the creative itch
The splendor of canvas meeting paint
Stone and wood carved magically
Art transforming into worlds for eyes
Give me the rawness
The endless nights
Of making lovely art

Change (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

Happy New Year! The theme this week at O.S.I. is change. I wrote this poem from the point of view of New Year's revelers. I pray this New Year will be full of happy, beautiful, and amazing experiences.

We smile as if we’ve met before
In the tumult of our daily lives
As we stumble, the subway rumbles
Setting all our cares aside

We laugh like chocolate cake
It is smooth and black
And has a sweetness rising giddy
In our stretching achy bellies

We are strangers glancing at a ball
That drops its diamond face
And tells us the New Year is upon us
And beckons our foreign lips to touch

We part a sky of streamers
Of horns and serenades of love
And pray this moment won’t change us
Being young and full of hope
