It’s been a long time since I’ve written an acrostic. This is written for Acrostic Only. Hope you enjoy!!
Cradle me once more
Open up your heart
Make this moment beautiful
Empty out your doubts
Back into these memories
Allow the blue skies
Calling one more time
Kiss and love me

Muse (O.S.I.)
Hi all,
Here is my poem for O.S.I. The theme this week is muse.
Laying on his window he prayed
He heard her voice like a canary sing
And the light danced through her hair
Her sun kissed dress flying in the wind
Inspired by her shadow he raced
To view her beauty up close
At last she had parted through the clouds
A muse elusive from his human touch

Ode to Valentine
I hope everyone has a joyous and beautiful Valentine's Day. May we all feel the love from the wonderful family and friends in our lives! (The photos above are from Macy's Valentine store windows. Very festive!)
In paper mache symmetry
Lay it out with your earth worn hands
Exhaling sweetness into me
Couplets like rain drizzle down my cheeks
Did you canvas my river in roses
Release pink blossoms with their petals down
Wade in a water of moonbeams
Until we wake in sunlight
Splashing into uncharted seas
But I’d prefer no fantasy
Just feel the love inside of me

Change (O.S.I.)
Hi all,
Happy New Year! The theme this week at O.S.I. is change. I wrote this poem from the point of view of New Year's revelers. I pray this New Year will be full of happy, beautiful, and amazing experiences.
We smile as if we’ve met before
In the tumult of our daily lives
As we stumble, the subway rumbles
Setting all our cares aside
We laugh like chocolate cake
It is smooth and black
And has a sweetness rising giddy
In our stretching achy bellies
We are strangers glancing at a ball
That drops its diamond face
And tells us the New Year is upon us
And beckons our foreign lips to touch
We part a sky of streamers
Of horns and serenades of love
And pray this moment won’t change us
Being young and full of hope

Knight (O.S.I.)
Hi all,
I am writing the following poem for O.S.I. and the theme is knight. This word evokes a fairytale image to me.
I thought of your smile
Your lips
That night
Peeling from
The walls of memory
And your laugh
So full of light
And heart
You at last
Were my knight
Your armor slinks
I sink
In an ocean
Of deep silence
Fade away
From my shore
My only knight

Poinsettia Lips
Hi all,
Hope you are all enjoying the holiday season. Here is a poem I recently penned.
I thought in poinsettia lips
Their symmetrical red tips
Gazing at the snow
And plucked them all
In my waning mind
He loves me…loves me not
Petals drop in silence
I smile into lights

Seeking (O.S.I.)
Hi all,
I am writing this poem for O.S.I. and the theme is seeking.
Intense and full
Two strangers glancing
At a midnight moon
Seeking some intimate exchange
That requires their bodies
To balance the magic
A gentle rawness
Of hands and kisses
And heat
Of hands and kisses
And heat
Then he turns
To say something
Coldness in his breath
In the naked air
Of full beaming light
And the moon
Absorbed in her eyes
Her glistening skin
Blinds the sight
Of her tears
As unspoken words
Seeking to swallow
The night

Carnival of Lights

Hi all,
The following story is written for Thursday Tales. The inspiring image comes from NineteenCID.
He called my name through the whir of carnival lights. The air smelled of cotton candy and popcorn. He wrapped his arms around me like a sweater. The brisk, autumn air kissed my cheeks.
“Let’s take a ride on those swings,” he smiled. He put his fingers through mine and lifted my hand into the air. When he touched me, I could feel butterflies rise in my stomach. I laughed like a school girl.
We stood in line stealing kisses when I noticed a proposal strung up in neon lights: Will you marry me?
“Who’s the lucky girl,” I laughed, glancing into his dancing eyes.
“I’m looking at her,” he smiled slyly. I fell back in surprise and my mouth flew open. This tipsy, giddy feeling swept over me. His body was the only thing keeping me up.
“I don’t know what to say,” I stammered. My quivering lips met his with the answer.
“Just say yes,” he whispered. He knelt carrying a velvet box. My eyes welled up in surprising joy as I hung my arms around his neck.
I felt young, barely five, when I rode with a giddy grin in the carnival of lights.

Need (O.S.I)
Hi all,
Here is a new poem for O.S.I. This week's theme is need.
Bears need honey like I need you
A pot of sweetness when I'm feeling blue
Golden joy sweetened by your smile
That lasts from sun up to sun down
Earth needs sun like I need you
The light of dawn to chase the moon
A wash of sunbeam in your glance
That fills my heart with pure romance

Mini Break
Hi all,
I will be taking a mini break from my blog. I will be returning soon though!! Here is a poem I wrote a couple of weeks back:
Scent of heaven
In your hair
Though you are unaware
I stare
Long and hard
Into those eyes
Angelic light
Too hot to rise
Body closer
Lay next to me
Sink in deeper
My soul is free

Our Paradise
Hi all,
I've been away from blogging a few days, and I'm so glad to share my latest poem with all of you:
We owe ourselves nothing
Except the pleasure
Of joy and silence
Wrapped in our blanket
Of darkened stars
Or we can kiss
The edges of the moon
Gaze reverential
Into each other's eyes
Relax in the pool
Of our paradise

We Introduce Ourselves
Hi all,
This piece was inspired by the first line of Emily Dickinson's poem We Introduce Ourselves.
We introduce ourselves
In passing smiles
Pearly gates
Across those lips
How you beguile
Erstwhile you kindle
Summer glances
And romances
‘Neath the city
Skyline of tangerine
Against pristine
Steel and concrete
Pausing at our
Statue of Liberty
Swirl of car horns
Taxi cabs
Flagging yellow
In concrete meadows
It is ours
We introduce ourselves
Scaling towers
Beyond this city

Lips Don't Lie
Hi all,
I wrote this poem a few months back, but spring fever and the hum of summer prompted me to post this piece. Perhaps summer love and new opportunities await in the near future!
You are intoxicated by the mosquito scent of summers gone by
Turning its lazy head upon an everlasting sun
I have taken my seat in some girlish youth
Picking those dandelions straight from their roots
My lips don’t lie but you’ve never loved me
Never noticed the pout on my lips, the curl of my vowels
The vibrato and melody of my vocal chords
You’ve never noticed them perhaps till now
I can’t read you, you’ve passed over to daylight
And daydreamed where the clouds divide in the sky
Say a prayer for me in those great, blue heavens
Awaiting your love, my lips don’t lie

Laying in Metaphors
Hi all,
Here is my latest freestyle poem. Hope you enjoy!!
I can lay against your back
And feel the currents of metaphors
Sliding against each vertebra
I can lay in the pool of your verse
Sweet innocent curves
Tickle my ears
I can lay in the bed of your tongue
Strumming your throat
Metaphors slow and long

Just Because (Acrostic Only)
Hi all,
Here’s some late night poetry for you:
Journey with his eyes
Under his soft lashes
Sun down and dark
Tearing into his soul
Beyond his light gaze
Enduring passion that lasts
Casual touch in jest
Arising her inner heat
Up flight of stairs
Swapping kisses in darkness
Enveloped in the moment
This is posted for Acrostic Only

Head Over Heels (Acrostic)
Hi all,
I am posting this for Acrostic Only. The theme is Head Over Heels.
Hesitating in the moment
Electrifying impulse rising up
Arresting her beating heart
Dividing her soul within
Opportune to her taste
Visceral through her waist
Encroaching arms grow stronger
Rotating her hips longer
Holding her heart up
Elevating through the eyes
Exciting her admirer’s touch
Lighting in her bosom
Sweeping bodies into night

As Time Goes By
Hi all,
I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day tomorrow.
The revelation weakened her where she stood. She laid her head against the luggage and prayed to be invisible. She mixed her sorrow with fresh raindrops gliding down the windows.
Sophie had only known him for a year but it felt like one hundred. They had aged and matured in thought, acquired some gray hairs along the journey. They tasted each other’s raw scars and loved fiercely. She loved him through sight, reconnected through touch. His words were melodic and made her quiver inside. She felt natural in his arms, beautiful, and full of light.
There were yesterdays and tomorrows shared in quiet company. There were quiet mornings to lay their heads upon. There were kisses that provoked intimacy. Now this severance made her life unbearable.
I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day tomorrow.
Here lay an uncertain future as Sophie’s heart floated off into gray clouds. She could convince herself to board the plane and leave everything behind. Why now did she hesitate? There were no signs of him on her cell phone, no lingering man behind her shoulders. He had loved her less. Perhaps, he didn’t love her at all.
The revelation weakened her where she stood. She laid her head against the luggage and prayed to be invisible. She mixed her sorrow with fresh raindrops gliding down the windows.

She heard the melody of As Time Goes By grow louder in her head. It flooded all the thoughts of her heart. She instantly recalled evenings wrapped in his arms, watching Casablanca, and gazing up at him. Instinct told her to lay her head back, and he caught her in his arms. Tears rolled thunderously down her cheeks. She couldn’t suppress the sobs coming from her lips. The melody grew louder in her ears, and she felt the courage to face her comforter.
He gazed on her with full, dark eyes. She saw a reflection of gray clouds in them. She wrapped her arms around him as time stood in place.

Johnny Wet Triumphant
Hi all,
Here is a freestyle poem I've written.
Johnny wet triumphant from the rain
Emerges in a puddle of blue
While silver lightning purrs
The door frame shakes where he stood
World of mud on his boots
Hot in the eyes
A pair of storm clouds
Unfurls against his brow
While raindrops trickle down
Amusing his love
She dries him with her eyes
Pile of wet clothes defeated
Beneath naked brown toes
Igniting the room in body heat
Silver clouds touching down
