Absent (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

I am writing the following poem for O.S.I. and the theme is absent.

I bite my tongue
As words are lodged in my throat
Like a pebble in the bottom of a well
I pray you can hear its echo
Breaking through the darkness
To fill this absence

My heart is light
And dreams to fly
Where my failing eyes
Cannot guide it
It thumps louder and stronger
Becomes my friend and guardian

"Absence makes the heart grow stronger," they say. Your poem said very nicely.

Thank you for your kind words about our loss of Adi. She was my buddy. On a lot of my blogs too.

In the mail yesterday I received a certificate of appreciation for Adi's and my nine years of service as a thereapy team.

We mostly visited people in assisted living homes and Alzheimer's patients facilities. Also we would tutor children in their reading. Adi was a 'reading dog'.

We seek and find companionship where we can, eh? I never feel alone. Well done.
