Hunger (Haiku Heights)

Hi all,

I've been away too long!  Here are three haiku for Haiku Heights and today's theme is starve.

Hunger preys
Playing cruel, sick games
Belly growls

Hungry eyes
Finds kindness in bread
Sweet baked friend

Better days
The world full again
Hunger ends

Very nice set on a tough prompt. I especially like the second one.

The last haiku does speak of a dream we all want to see fulfill :-)

The last one does it ... at least to me. Wonderful set of haiku. Welcome back.

That first one makes me crave for a midnight snack as I read :)

I love your set. Starts out in despair, but ends beautifully with hunger dying!

Nice progression here. I think I like the middle one best - but perhaps I am just hungry....

Now that I think about it--a haiku about starvation seems most appropriate in the 3-5-3 form. Enjoyed all your takes :)
