Departed (O.S.I.)

This week's O.S.I. prompt uses the word departed.

Departing laughter
Shivering from lovers' lips
Hands eternally wrenched
From tomorrow's face
Absence grown fonder
By days lengthening
On memory's canvas
Distance grows like weeds
In neglected gardens
Midnight ink in glory
Ushers diamond skies
Lighting souls
Departing on journeys home

Nice imagery here. I especially like "memory's canvas" and "distance grows like weeds."

How absence fills the space it creates....with weeds or good feelings. wow.

You've captured the shades of departure well.
