Retirement (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

I am writing the following poem for O.S.I. and the theme is retirement:

Where do honey bees retire
In the cleft of a sunset
Buzzing into the afternoon
Of an orange breeze
And bluebirds
Intoxicated by bluer waters
Make their homes in the sea
And angels
Do they pass as clouds
Ascend from earth to heaven
For human hearts
I hesitate
Which place to retire?

Oh my. What a sweet and longing poem. If only I could see this in my life. Well done dear friend.

Lovely, W.G!!! ~~ If I could I would retire where the angels do, possibly passing as clouds.

An aside. When my mother was dying we hurried to Nebraska to be by her side. As our plane was coming down at Omaha (NE) one of our fellow passengers looking out her window said she could just see angels sitting on each of the puffy clouds we were about to enter through.

I will never forget that experience and the lady's remark. We calculated that my mother died very near to that moment when we were flying above those clouds, about to go through them.

Beautiful. Sadly, retirement is not on my schedule... :-)
