Miracle (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

I've written the following poem for O.S.I. and the theme is miracle.

Fledgling wings
A full moon
I cup in my palms
New life
And find within its beak
A miracle
Whole, full, and sublime

And so I gaze
Through the gray and haze
And find my bird
Circling me
With gentle coos

O.S.I.: Vital

Hello all,

This Sunday evening I am happy to write a new poem for O.S.I., and this week's theme is vital.

Beautiful
First sun
Feeling the breeze
Palms open to sky
Rising up to catch
An eternal blessing

Today feels new
I can sense in your eyes
Vitality and joy
Youth renewed
So I open the gates
And let faith
Send you back
To me

New Morning (Sky Watch)

When I gaze into the sun, I am reminded of the hope of morning. Every morning gives us the opportunity to start over and begin again.

Sun pregnant with hope
Chases away dark sorrows
Light full of promise

Hope you enjoy the skies in your neighborhood.

The Gift

Hi all,

Wishing you all the joy, happiness, and love of the Christmas season. May tomorrow be a day filled with good cheer.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11)

The day star
Beckons our eyes
Towards the darkness
Remnant of heaven
Giver of life
Light and hope
Lost in the heights
Of glory and wonder
Gift and giver
Love and light

Happy New Year

Dear bloggers, I wish you all a Happy New Year. May all the things you hope and pray for come true. I chose a unique and succinct poetic style called the Tyburn for my latest entry.

Living
Hoping
Dreaming
Breathing
New Year’s filled with living and hoping
Happily free, dreaming and breathing

Better Days

Better days
Dropping like
Sunken rays
Drizzling over
A tropical haze

Taste and sip
Reclining
On the aisle
Of enchantment

Bygone
Are the shores
Of worry and sorrow
Tomorrow
Hope evermore
For better days

Homeless

In the evenings
And mornings
If you've seen me
Bent low
To the ground
Trembling
With a scowl
Darkness settling now
Whites of my eyes
Gleaming
Pleading
For the sun to come

Undone
Are yesterday's knots
They hold much clout
But my soul
Is cast in doubt

In the evenings
And mornings
I mutter stories
And untold glories
But they are deaf
Bereft of love
Hope vanquished
On the wings of a dove

The street's my bed
I bow my head
With great assurance
I live
Money's not God

Faith

The other day my eyes wandered on the scripture: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It provided much needed inspiration for my daily tasks and shaped my latest poem.

Ink black is the sky
But my eyes flicker
Towards the horizon
The burgeoning flame of hope
Rising like the morning star
And faith cradling me
From the precipice below
Despairs closing eye
A feverish sigh
Steadily climbing upward
Till the heavenly stars
Twinkle in my hair
From above all sorrows melt
The velvet coat of night
Lightens and heightens its gaze
Upon heavenly glory

Now faith is the substance
Of things hoped for
Brimming and overflowing
From the spirit
Cascading like a waterfall
Deepening wells of hope
Quenches the thirst of many
Prayers crying out
Grasping on the tails of faith
