Moon Chasing

It’s a beautiful night for moon chasing
All you need is a pair of legs
A fresh pair of eyes
And an open heart
Happy Sky Watching all!!

Moonspace

Here is a freestyle poem I recently penned. I was daydreaming about the moon. Hope you like it!

There was not enough room for him and I
So I shot him into outer space
In tin foil like the astronauts wear
I didn’t leave him without a mate
Sent the fur ball cat to battle Martians
Now he’s on our rooftop begging to touch down
I have no sympathy for baby brothers
But his lungs are loud and mama scowls
Get him down! Playtime’s over

Pair of Haikus

Hi all,

Today, I am writing a pair of haikus for The Purple Treehouse.

Long ago I thought
Wisdom came in red ribbon
Pray, in time, it speaks

Drop in the romance
Of moonlight while stars roam you
Is there wisdom here?

Seeking (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

I am writing this poem for O.S.I. and the theme is seeking.

Intense and full
Two strangers glancing
At a midnight moon
Seeking some intimate exchange
That requires their bodies
To balance the magic

A gentle rawness
Of hands and kisses
And heat
Of hands and kisses
And heat

Then he turns
To say something
Coldness in his breath
In the naked air
Of full beaming light

And the moon
Absorbed in her eyes
Her glistening skin
Blinds the sight
Of her tears

As unspoken words
Seeking to swallow
The night

Crater (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

I am late posting but nonetheless inspired by this week's prompt at O.S.I.

Dipped in white
A stunning moon
Swims about
The galaxy

Its immensity
Engulfs the universe
By its splendor

Craters are beauty marks
Endless and deep
Its history hidden

Find a space
Mark your place
On the moon

Our Paradise

Hi all,

I've been away from blogging a few days, and I'm so glad to share my latest poem with all of you:

We owe ourselves nothing
Except the pleasure
Of joy and silence
Wrapped in our blanket
Of darkened stars

Or we can kiss
The edges of the moon
Gaze reverential
Into each other's eyes
Relax in the pool
Of our paradise

Reciprocate (O.S.I.)

Hi all, This poem is written for O.S.I. and the theme this week is reciprocate.

Sun and moon
Reciprocates light
Full and radiant
In blue dotted skies
Waiting to rise and sleep
And rise again
Crowning the earth
In continual splendor

Sarcastic (O.S.I.)

Hi all,
I am posting this creative poem for O.S.I. The theme is sarcastic.

Sarcastic grins
Little boys
With rocks in their hands
Hurling stone
At the moon
Elusive, wide, and yellow
In the great Milky Way of memory
Years elapse
Gaping from my window
Rugged men
With rocks in their hands
Sarcastic grins

Sky Watch: The Moon

Last week, I spotted the moon in broad daylight. Quite a lovely find.

Moon in blue daylight
Gazing down as we pass by
A smile parting, saying hi

Pearly white reclines
Diamond cookie for my eyes
Balloon like drifting in skies

Moonlight Drive

Hi Bloggers,

Leo introduced me to a new meme at Thursday's Tales. I am writing a tale inspired by the photo above by artist Dennis B. This is an abbreviated version of my short story. Thankfully I sampled Leo's so I shortened mine's a bit :)

The moon was curling low, dipping behind a tree. The dark shadows leapt out at them. Red climbed the black limbs of the tree, her long coat blowing in the wind. Her cloak was bright like strawberries and spread across the darkness like jam.

Suddenly, they heard cackling in the distance and the howl of a wolf. They were blinded by a pair of lights. A car accelerated in their direction, coughing up dirt in the night air. A wolf in dark shades and an Elvis hairdo stepped out of the convertible.

“Would you ladies care to accompany me on a drive,” he asked. He dropped his shades low, and they were swooning on his yellow eyes.

"What a mysterious wolf," Red laughed. "Hey there handsome. We'll go for a drive," and they all sped away. They rode for hours, not noticing the moon drifting and the sky sporting black shades. They all howled and cackled at the moon until their lungs grew dry. The wolf yawned and his yawning was contagious. Soon Red and her friend drifted to sleep.

Sun and Moon Eyes

The sun awakes in the dawn and shines on the high and low creatures. It warms the ants as they surface from their sand hills, rises on the woodland animals nesting on tree limbs. Loops gracefully on the gazelles pirouetting in Africa and pays homage to the lion basking in the glory of his domain.

The sun laughs in the presence of school children who romp at recess. The sun even glistens on skyscraper buildings and teases workers who long to free themselves and run wild in daylight. The sun is the warm, friendly presence that greets your eyes in the morning.

Likewise, the moon is the night owl suspended in blackness. It is night watcher of the creatures which daylight never sees or hears. The moon has many faces sometimes appearing full and glorious like the sun and on other nights, illuminated like a silver croissant on canvas. The moon lights the path for cars on winding roads. Its reflection ripples on black waters and guides the seaman on night journeys home.

The moon is the witness of evil. For even dark corners and alleys cannot evade its silver light. Its gaze is on the lowly and when its aura casts shadows on the homeless, they appear wounded and weary. But the moon delights in the little ones tucked safely in their beds. The moon says sweet dreams to all.

Rides to the Moon

On rides to the moon
Do you notice the stars
That blinks in blackened skies
Like fireflies
Or perceive the galaxies
Swirl in brilliant array
In colors only God arranged
Or see the earth
A clear, blue marble
Spinning endless
In a universal marvel
