Simply Snickers: Travellers

The following poem is inspired from last week's prompt over at Simply Snicker's. The accompanying painting is Samuel Prout's Travellers on a Path in an Extensive Landscape.

Canopies opening
Heavenly, celestial
Blue skies swooning
Darkened prairies
Cattle grazing
Brown rivers
Eroding earth
Travellers roll
Without time
Reclining minds
Cast their eyes
Upon eternity
Elated glories
Cascading crowns
On earthly vessels

hey write girl, your poem captures the feelings
& emotions going through the minds of these
early travellers.
