It’s been a long time since I’ve written an acrostic. This is written for Acrostic Only. Hope you enjoy!!
Cradle me once more
Open up your heart
Make this moment beautiful
Empty out your doubts
Back into these memories
Allow the blue skies
Calling one more time
Kiss and love me

Candle (Acrostic)

Hi all,
I am writing the following poem for Acrostic Only and the theme is candle.
Catching my eyes
A little light
Needs some recognition
Day erases night
Laying aside cares
Every shadow gone

Cheese (Acrostic)
Hi all,
I am posting this over at Acrostic Only and the theme is cheese. I also wanted to combine this with the meme at The Purple Tree House. Hope you enjoy it!
Cherish those lovely eyes
Heaven is forever pink
Enticing slices of sky
Enduring drops of morning
Sinks into our mouths
Ending full and sweet

Haste (Acrostic)
Hi all,
I am writing this poem for Acrostic Only. This poem evokes one man’s haste to find love. Hope you enjoy!
How your thoughts turn
Attempt to kiss me
Seek your other love
Try her red lips
Empty quick and sweet

Sea (Haiku)
Hi all,
Happy Saturday!! This haiku is inspired by Acrostic Only.
Sown into blue depths
Empty in the shallow eves
And the waves recede

Angel (Acrostic)
Hi all,
The following poem is written for Acrostic Only. The word I've chosen is angel.
At the edge
Needing a confidant
Grow giant wings
Extend your hands
Learn to fly

Nine Lives (Short Story)
Hi all,
It has been awhile since I've posted a short story. I'd like to share a new story I wrote today. I hope you enjoy it. This is a prompt at Acrostic Only.
Now and then, the old man with yellow eyes appeared from a vacant window. He lit the bud of his cigarette into the dark night. The moon exposed his silvery whiskers. His lips drew open but he never spoke.
Ira and I threw jagged rocks at the man. He hissed and cursed at us. The yellow in his eyes grew violent and red. He jumped out the window and chased our shadows. Our legs stretched beneath the starry night. We do not look back.
Nana scolds us when we reach the porch of our house. She rocks in her chair silently with her head bowed down. “Why do you torture the man with nine lives,” she says. “You should pity him. He has no companions in this world.”
Earth has many secrets but I shall tell you this once. There was a black cat abandoned when he was a wee kitten. He became a companion of the night and traveled everywhere with the moon. One day, the cat veered off course and onto a busy road. He was struck by a car without warning.
Life claimed it as its own, but the night mourned its little friend. Night heard the cat’s dying plea for life. The cat asked night to grant him nine lives.
In Nana’s eyes, I watch tears well up like a fountain, full and visible beneath the moon. “Ah, this part of the story makes me weep,” she sobbed.
Vainly, night sought to help and save the cat. But no one would open their door. Only screams of the cat echoed from the road.
Eternity opened her arms to the cat, but he refused such a fate. He summoned the courage to run away, and he was chased to the four corners of the world. Alas, Eternity looked but he alluded her.
Some say the cat of nine lives took on the form of a man. There he gazes longingly into night’s face.” Nana finishes her tale and looks at Ira and I with deep angst. “Take the plate of food on the table and offer it to him,” she said. “He likes to have company when he eats.” We obey silently and journey out into the quiet night.

Reason (Acrostic)
I believe every thing in life happens for a reason. This is the inspiration for this acrostic.
Right or wrong
Every moment possesses
A better answer
Summoning new courage
Onward we face
Now seek change

A better answer
Summoning new courage

Tsunami (Acrostic Only)
Hi all,
This acrostic is dedicated to all those still suffering from the earthquake in Japan and all those recovering from the recent tornadoes:
Tell those who mourn
Someone watches over them
Under clear blue skies
Nearer in the darkness
Amidst sea of tears
Mend spirits and heal
Inspire hope and love

Bless You (Acrostic Only)
Hi all,
I am posting this for Acrostic Only.
Born to love
Life is full
Ebbing from lips
Song in lights
Strong in flight
Years in prayer
Open the palms
Usher in heaven

Just Because (Acrostic Only)
Hi all,
Here’s some late night poetry for you:
Journey with his eyes
Under his soft lashes
Sun down and dark
Tearing into his soul
Beyond his light gaze
Enduring passion that lasts
Casual touch in jest
Arising her inner heat
Up flight of stairs
Swapping kisses in darkness
Enveloped in the moment

Head Over Heels (Acrostic)
Hi all,
I am posting this for Acrostic Only. The theme is Head Over Heels.
Hesitating in the moment
Electrifying impulse rising up
Arresting her beating heart
Dividing her soul within
Opportune to her taste
Visceral through her waist
Encroaching arms grow stronger
Rotating her hips longer
Holding her heart up
Elevating through the eyes
Exciting her admirer’s touch
Lighting in her bosom
Sweeping bodies into night

Cairo Egypt (Acrostic Only)
Hi all,
I am posting this for Acrostic Only. The recent news of President Mubarak's resignation makes this poem poignant.
Cries in night
Arresting the world
Imploring the rich
Rising in numbers
Outcry for justice

Outcry for justice
Egyptian blood spilled
Galvanized in spirit
Youth stand strong
President loses control
Time for change

Unpleasantness (Acrostic)
Hi all,
My latest poem is a challenging prompt from Acrostic Only. The theme is an acrostic sonnet using iambic pentameter. If you are interested in a challenge, please check it out!
Under whelmed by the power he possessed
Notwithstanding his looks were quite obtuse
Petrified of this union, she confessed
Love in her hesitant, chased, and misused
Eternity a symbol from his lips
Aiding his persuasion, amassed in gold
Saturated in jewels, queen of his ship
Acquire mere fortune, she wavered ice cold
Notes in mascara, regret’s only song
Triumphant storm, she devoured her rain cloud
Neglected her heart, thought it cruel and wrong
Enigma in white lace, she cried aloud
Satin train through the window seeking night
Satiated by the freedom of flight

Five O' Clock Shadow
Hi all,
I am posting this for Acrostic Only. The theme is Five O’ Clock Shadow.
Frisking his beard
Intent is rising
Vision of kisses
Enveloping her eyelids
Open and close
Craving the shadow
Long and grizzly
Oscillating in movement
Crumpling with touch
Kindling though strangers
Shaving his hair
Hot skin smooth
Arresting her eyes
Dropping down low
Only the razor
Whistled out slow

Bookmarks (Acrostic Only)
Hi all,
I am posting this story for Acrostic Only. The theme is bookmarks. If you are up for a challenge, check out the link for other exciting prompts.
Oblivious to her younger self. Precocious babe with flirty pages. She sits in silence with a sly, little twinkle.
Olive vines are her headdress. She has slipped into white. Like a bird swept in light, she blows out the candles. Her birthday cake is more delightful in private.

Brave heart is wilting in black chiffon. The chocolate cream on her cake matches her dress. Pink frost is a yummy reminder of childhood. She tastes in front of an audience.

Olive vines are her headdress. She has slipped into white. Like a bird swept in light, she blows out the candles. Her birthday cake is more delightful in private.
Kissing herself in the mirror, she embraces the gray in her hair. She is drawn into mirrors of beauty. Her young self gazes at an old woman. Her selves united in chatter and singing.
Mind her wrinkles, her waning skin, lips, and fat. She sits in a pool of thoughts and laughs. The natives are restless. She can hear their heels clicking, their silhouettes glow in a room full of helium balloons.
Aligning old birthday cards and well wishes, warm memories flood her. They weep along her cheeks and well up in her bosom. Was she ready to face the future? Prepared to walk in the shadows of old age?
Rising towards the door, turning the knob, she found courage to breathe. Her fingers gently tug against her curls. Her palms rest upon her cheeks, neck, and down the sides of her dress.
Kindled by old friends, her belly is full and jubilant. The room is filled with laughter. The hours are delicious as chocolate cake. She lets fear dissipate in frosting and ice. It settles somewhere deep into her bones.
Signs would appear in the birthdays to come. Age would show its face. The hourglass of time would collapse like jagged, grainy crystals. But she placed a snapshot of her former self between the pages of life. Youth became her bookmark in the annals of time.

Chasing Dreams (Acrostic)
Hi all,
This is posted for Acrostic Only. Hope you all enjoy the weekend!
Course of words
Heightened by action
Accelerating sheer will
Sweeping the masses
Impregnate with hope
Nigh is success
Gravitating towards sunset
Dare to dream
Rising in time
Emptying the gift
Adoration and love
Mirroring pure imagination
Sweet dreams realized

Thinking (Acrostic Only)
Hi all,
This post is written for Acrostic Only.
Thoughts desperate and loose
Harping her corner blues
Inclining on moon wings
Notes on silver strings
Knitting in night hour
Illuminating dreams lay sour
Naked night slowly bends
Gyrating pendulum never ends

Poised and sweet
Anticipating his touch
Sinking in arms
