March Iran

Before I begin this post, I'd like to say Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. For some reason, I wasn't inspired to write something reflective about this day. My heart was tugging more towards what is going on in Iran. That is the inspiration for this piece.

March Iran
Arm in arm
March in tens
Hundreds
Thousands
Tens of thousands
Protestations
Indignation
Outrage
Rising like fire
The world grows heavy
Flashes of the sixties
Hangs upon the landscape
Dogs and hoses
Now police batons
History blazes a new chapter
March, Iran march

Thanks for this post. I was avoiding CNN today but just tuned in. I've been taking my freedom for granted. I pray they get theirs.

This is really good..I swung by early this morning but my son's birthday's today and I've been home all by myself trying to get a dinner together. I wanted to just say this was really fiery..I like it! I'm coming back...

Very well done. Powerful, to the point and harkening back to another time in history. I really thought this was amazingly well done. I'm impressed.

Our heart is hurting. This is very well done, and we truly can relate to what is happening over there. Thank you for saying what others fear to say.

powerful poem write girl, I wish more people could read your poem. true - so many freedoms
are taken for granted, I'm guilty. just having
hot water, air conditioning, the right as a
women to dress as I please, and the list goes
on and on.

Just so good! When you put your pen to the
paper you make your words come alive. I agree,
I dream of the day when more people can read
your work. God Bless!
