OSI: Colors

This week's OSI Prompt is Colors. You can check out other beautiful poems by clicking on the link.

Awakening autumn breaths
Orange, yellow, and gold
On fallen leaves
And paints the bark
A deep mahogany

White clouds thicken
In a sapphire sky
Dipping in the glow
Of a tangerine sunset

Black outlines of birds
Suspended in midair
With feathers cascading
Like plum velvet

Brisk air with silver whips
Pinch pink and brown cheeks
Human shadows growing gray
In blue embers of winter

Red dusk of summertime
Rising like the phoenix
Trails the hem of sunset
Memories and feverish bursts
Ripen on an artist's canvas

This was really pretty..I especially enjoyed the way you wrapped up the last stanza..
Red dusk of summertime..trails the hem of sunset..memories and feverish bursts ripen on an artists canvas- another beautiful piece for this season-

That was funny..we must of been writing at the same time. That acrostic..I did one of the swine flue but the two photos I had made my blog ugly! I'll repost it now..cause I'll have something else up soon anyway- it's kind of amusing?

What a lovely, lovely poem! There is so much here that made me think, but autumn as the rising phoenix of summer truly remains with me.
