Fancy (O.S.I.)

Hi all,
This poem is written for O.S.I. The theme this week is fancy.

It would please her
To permeate his skin
In deep rose and dusk
Her love satiated
By the gravity of lips and touch
How she fancied the evening
Starlit nightingales
And the moon
An island for two
The wind their orchestra
Universe etched in their names
But oh his incessant games!
Unromantic, unrepentant fool
He sleeps, growls, and drools
Candlelight for the lonely heart
She bottled the evening
Extinguished yearning after dark

Sugar Licking Lilly

Hail Ms. Sugar Licking Lilly
She's a sweet tooth for gingerbread men
Eyes swimming in ice cream
Devouring whole a jar of strawberry jam

She drinks black coffee or vanilla bean
Stirring in chocolate bars and licorice
Bathes in ice water and sweetened tea
Pleasing herself with jars of jelly beans and jolly ranchers

Proud nightingale of the Easter Parade
Goddess of sugar flowers and cadbury eggs
Mountain of sweetness on display
She's Willy Wonka's madame, Sugar Licking Lilly

Lazy Sleeper

Are you the lazy sleeper
That lounges on my windowsill
Eyelids closed upon the dawn
Stirring only when the wind
Carouses you
A menace to my flowerbed
You terrorize the birds
You've made enemies
With the squirrels
The world is a bowl of yarn
And your the cat's meow
Lazy sleeper

April Fools

The fools come out
On April first
Dressed in their best

Dressed in their worst
With clown noses and monocle eyes
Tossing decks of cards in the sky
One performed a trick

With a bottle of coke
Shook it up
And caught one in the eye
We all had a laugh at the gaffe
Folly ruled the night
Farewell revelers
Until next April, they chimed

Stay Awhile

Stay awhile, she said
And bribed me with some cookies
So warm and moist on my lips
I felt a little wiggle in my hips
Her boyfriend brings out the chips
My fingers settle in the dip
Pig out, chow down, and loosen that belt
A pain in my stomach was all I felt

Lovely Toad

A lovely toad
Croaks at my window
And my imagination carries me
To a place most enchanting
Sitting on a rock
Adorned in a gown
And a crown serenading my head
I am spellbound
Running my fingers over green, leather skin
I hope he's Prince Charming
Better yet, I pray he's a dashing knight
No, brave like a firefighter
Or witty and seductive like an actor
Ferocious and cunning like a matador
Or perhaps a braniac scientist
Or a sensitive artist
Poor toad grows restless
And flails his magnificent, green legs
My fingers grow like weeds and trap him
And I kiss his little face
He croaks again
No luck (Still a toad)
