A Sign of Spring

Spring in my bones
In the roots beneath my toes
In the air
The bloom of colorful beings
Leaping through the trees
A sign of spring

Happy Skywatch Friends!

Perfect Shade of Yellow

Hi all,

This is a fresh poem I am eager to share with you.

I am that perfect shade of yellow
Dewdrops from the sun above
I am the yellow of tulips
Flirting in the spring
I am the yellow summertime
Whipping against your knees
I am the butterfly poemed in yellow
Wrapped in a cocoon of bliss
I am the yellow egg that hisses
I am the yellow squeezed from oranges
I am that arching sun that greets you
And sets my head to meet you
I am befriending, yellow, and meek

Unwatered Garden

Hi all,

This is a poem I wrote reflecting life's many hardships and the quest for peace.

I will not water you today
Or tomorrow
I will not water you
With my sorrows
I’ve borrowed
The last of myself
Tears no longer
Give themselves freely

I’ve extended myself too far
I’ve rummaged my soul too deep
Let the murmuring cease
Let the dry places reap
Let the heavens care for you
Nurture you from her spring

I’ll tend to myself
Let the roots sink deep
And sigh into the sun
Dipping light into me

Sky Watch: Sign of Spring?

I have gratitude for the sun slicing through the cold, winter sky. Is it a sign of spring?

Happy Sky Watch to all.

Sky Watch: Spring Wings

Hi skywatchers! After a rainy weekend, the sun is finally out. You can feel spring in the air.

The sun is playing peek-a-boo behind a tree.

These clouds remind me of wings against a lovely, blue backdrop.

Even the geese enjoyed the day. Happy Sky Watch Friday everyone : )

In Search of Spring

Hi everyone!! I'm sorry if my acrostic yesterday was a bit too deep. Today's poem is a friendly take on spring. I hope you enjoy : )

We woke up early in search of spring
The sun still snoring, refused to rise
We laughed as we poked and prodded ourselves
Emptied our closets and fell into the abyss
Our boots still wet from winter snow
Coats and hats dusted in snowflake glee

We like the spring, they show our knees
We crave our khaki capris and washed out jeans
Our sundresses riding in the breeze
We inspected bare limbs with our magnifying glass
Still no sign of spring
The buds are too stubborn to our pleas

The breeze teases us in cool breath
Where is spring?
Perhaps she'll fly up like migratory birds
Nestle in our bird feeders and ponds
Silly us have abandoned our winter clothes
Running barefoot in frost bitten grass
We'll dance in the spring

Cocoon

The capacity to dwell
In a darkened cocoon
Blanketed in an unwanted womb
The world laughs excitedly
Outside these walls
Impatient caterpillar
Wills his wings to grow
But nature hums
Be patient my love
He shakes violently
Tears drop like dew
On his outer shell
His joys are few
Blue notes he sings
Till spring breaks the womb
