Running (O.S.I)

Stilted legs running in the dawn
Forever gliding and moving
Dust rising from her feet
Gathering speed like a freight train
Along the dotted prairies and hills
Footprints deep like craters
Etched along the shores of time
When waves are forever running
Sea green skipping with grace
Birds in flight, run in air
How high we leap to catch them
The babe shall surely run
Her shadow chasing the sun
Four legged friend wagging her tongue
Thousands of miles in a singular step
Life is best met running

I love the spirit of this, W.G. Girls like to run and yours found a very good reason, meeting life head on. Her shadow chasing the sun is just one of your excellent imagery scenes.

Thank you for using my OSI prompt, 'running,' in such a nice way. If you happened to read the poem supposedly written by me, my daughter read that too. She had a lady running for a different reason.

Once acquainted, we tend to slow down.

not one of the singular lines best standing alone, as they all run together to create a fantastic piece!

I'm going to hold on to that line. It is powerful for me.

It seems we spend our lives running or chasing something. Will we get left behind if we run to slow? Does it matter in the end anyway? You poem invokes many thoughts for me.
