Manifest (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

This is written for O.S.I. This poem comes from a deep, spiritual place.

Bearer of all things good
You manifest like sun
Rising, radiant June
Casting darkness beneath you
I bow in your embrace
Longing to see your face

May Gratitude

Hi all,

Here are the countless blessings I have been keeping in my daily journal. I hope you all enjoy the Memorial weekend.

Warm sunlight pouring through the window
Dust particles swirling in the light
God is ever present and unchanging
New, unexpected joys of life
The wind in all its sweeping power
Old, familiar faces
A place to call home
An old memory can burst me into smiles
God is shelter in the rain
I never walk alone
Spring rain to replenish the earth
Conversations from the heart
Hard lessons make you stronger
Each day is the beginning of new experiences
Turning the page and writing a different ending

New Morning (Sky Watch)

When I gaze into the sun, I am reminded of the hope of morning. Every morning gives us the opportunity to start over and begin again.

Sun pregnant with hope
Chases away dark sorrows
Light full of promise

Hope you enjoy the skies in your neighborhood.

Truth in Rain

Yesterday's rain showers inspired this poem in me:

Is in the rain
That dries her tears
Upon the earth

Her wet eyes
Mixes with brown
And green leaves sprout
Where rain soaks down

Showers in the eve
Tear drops on leaves
Cold wet truth
Patters softly
Downpour truth

Rambling (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

This poem is written for O.S.I. This week's theme is rambling.

Foolish hearts
Sitting real tall
Shooting with the wind
Riding the morning sun
Chasing our stilted shadows
Following children after dark
Drinking in summer’s endless nights

The dawn laughs
Wet, new morning
Rain showers soak us
Dancing feet in couplets
Embracing the body of time
Riding on the surprise of love
Living and loving and rambling on

Our Paradise

Hi all,

I've been away from blogging a few days, and I'm so glad to share my latest poem with all of you:

We owe ourselves nothing
Except the pleasure
Of joy and silence
Wrapped in our blanket
Of darkened stars

Or we can kiss
The edges of the moon
Gaze reverential
Into each other's eyes
Relax in the pool
Of our paradise

Heal (Haiku Heights)

Hi all,

I've written a pair of haikus for Haiku Heights. This week's word is heal.

Time’s friendly face yearns
To heal the broken fragments
Of a lonely heart

Joy knocks and enters
Extends her hand lovingly
Reach out…her touch heals

Exhibition (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

I am honored to have my word featured at O.S.I. This week's word is exhibition.

Eyes of velvet night
An exhibition
Of creation
Heavenly light

Twinkling joy
Abounding wonder
Star gazing
In celestial oceans

Lend your eyes
Bend your light
Envelope me
In the beauty
Rapturous night

Woken Poet

Hi all,

I've written this freestyle poem to evoke the inner thoughts of the poet:

I woke the poet
From dreams of herself
Footprints along the edges
Of sandy metaphors
Created in hymns
Drawing her curtains back
Pressing against the brow
A thousand lovely sighs
Before she frowned
I woke the poet
From nightmares of herself
Lassoed all the loose syllables
And untamed verse
Cage less voice laying on the page
I recognized the words
When I woke the poet

Love (O.S.I.)

Hi all,

This week's beautiful theme at O.S.I. is love. Here is my poem:

Every ounce
Of love
Pours out
Like raindrops
On rooftops

As tears dry
On glass windows
Winning smile
A silver lining
In the sky

If only
She recognized
The strength
Of his love

Lone Scarecrow

Hi all,

Tonight, I am inspired to write a short story from Thursday Tales. The artist is Sara Vandermeulen at DeviantArt.

I've borrowed the stoic face of the scarecrow. I've laid his midnight top hat upon my head. I've worn his purple robes and the cobwebs tangled on the sleeves. I've taken his place in spring meadows as the wind plays into evening. Gazing out, I am the groom of the crow who greets me.

I've found a lover in the sun. A lover who has never lacked in intensity and fondness. The sun rays pour out like kisses upon me. And the moon is my confidant in those long, weary nights. When the universe refuses to birth a star, give me cups of moonlight.

Tomorrow and ages hence, I will be like forgotten straw and stick. The fields grow desolate of passersby. Only curious children will notice my presence and greet me.

Mother's Day Wishes

Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful and amazing mothers out there. Here is a poem dedicated to you.

You’ve known me
From the beginning
And loved me
In my youth
Held me
Through the night
Kissed me
In the storm
You’ve given me
All of the best
Entrusted me
With precious gifts
With gratitude
My heart sings
A happy joyful wish
Happy Mother's Day

Haze of Light

Glancing over the river, the sun beams in a haze of light.
Hope you all enjoy the skies in your neighborhood.

Birth in warm brilliance

O.S.I.: Borders

Hi all, this is written for O.S.I. and the theme this week is borders. This poem is written in septolet form and is partly inspired by my reading of One Thousand Gifts.

Between the lines
Shifting in
The soul

The equator
Of the heart

The conscience
Giver and taker
Of life

In living
The full life
